Black Creek Farm is located in Darlington County just outside the quaint and historic town of Hartsville, SC. This property is as diverse as it is unique and features nearly 2 miles of frontage on Black Creek and a historic Mill Pond. Within its roughly 530 acres- this property consists of mature bottomland hardwoods, nutrient rich ag-fields, mature upland pine stands, and scattered oaks throughout. There is an “impoundment” just off Black Creek that was once pasture. Today it functions as a pad pond and provides a  good wild food source for duck enthusiasts. The fields are naturally lined with mass producing oaks as well as browse lines from Whitetail Deer. The bottomland hardwood feature of Black Creek swamp is filled with ancient Cypress, Tupelo, and Ash trees – making it a serene destination to set up for a turkey. This portion of Black Creek swamp is below Lake Robinson but headwaters to Lake Prestwood. For the wing shooter – multiple fields would set up well for a dove field and upland pine stands could be managed as “bird woods” for a potential pre-season quail release. The opportunities are endless.

The nearly 40-acre blackwater mill pond once served as a community venue in nature many years ago. Beaverdam Creek flows in and throughout the mill pond, creating a consistent water source to keep the pond level. The water control structure is maintained and in fantastic shape, essentially being rebuilt in May of 2024 – insuring future years of enjoyment.

This property is just outside the town limits of Hartsville -  which provides many amenities the typical rural small town does not. This property sits in a rural convenient location just outside the town limits, as well as being 65 miles to Columbia and 75 miles to Charlotte, just south of the Carolina Sandhills National Wildlife Refuge.
